The energy emergency due to the war situation in Ukrain, has increased the urgency of reducing the energy consumption in buildings. The Lighting Management Systems besides controlling light according to users needs and the availability of day light, also help in reducing the consumption with HVAC systems when linked to the BMS systems. Knowing how to implement a lighting management system using standards and answering the requests from legislation and certifications programs is of great interest to everyone involved in building construction and management.
KNX is the most common global Standard for Building Automation and together with DALI offer some of the best solutions for Light Management Systems. In this presentation I will address how to design and install a LMS with DALI and KNX and the technology of motion and occupancy detectors. How to link the Lighting Management System to a BMS, benefits and framework with legislation and Energy Efficient Certification Programs, such as with LEED, AQUA and Others.
